I buy the Bastien Piano Basics Primer A book. 

Go through pages 1-3 with Sam. 

Leave him alone for an hour or so. 

I come back and he's on page 17.

Golfing with Carl

Carl took Sam golfing for the first time.

I think his score was better than my first (and only) attempt.

Which is made even more sad by the fact that Sam is 6 and I was 20.

The piano got delivered - and Sadie wanted some "notes" to look at so she could play church.

The kids got these stuffed animals at the zoo a couple weeks ago and had to bring them along. 

They make noise.

And awesome. For the kids. Not so much for the adult driving the car.

For Lala - Sadie loves her new outfit. 

 And she thought she needed to pose like this (after seeing Sam's "glamour shot" spring school pictures).

Like a Rock Star

Sadie loves the Fresh Beat Band. She loves to sing, and the songs on their show get sung around our house quite a bit. A few months before we moved she started seeing commercials for their upcoming tour - and would exclaim "I've NEVER been to THAT!" 

Lucky for her, their tour happened to go through here a couple days after we moved in. We kept it as a surprise from her and let Sam tell her a few minutes before we had to leave. 

Here they are pre-concert.....they can't wait....especially to hear "Like a Rock Star," the song played over and over and over and over and over again on the commercials. 

 Finally on stage.....late. Then they played for 25 minutes, took a 25 minute intermission, and then played for 25 more minutes. I'm trying not to think about what we paid per minute for our tickets.  (Can you tell the parental units of this family was not so impressed?!)

They finally got to "Like a Rock Star" after intermission....and after a time out for Sadie (whose behavior reflected her disappointment that it wasn't the first song....or even in the first half). 

All in all, the kids had a great time though - which is what is was about. :) 

Three dimensions

Checking to see if this 3D tv really works. 

 It does! As you can see, they are both trying to grab something they think is floating out in space.
