Ramblings about my two favorite kids

She loves her noodles

We recently went out to lunch with the neighbor boys to a new Mexican place that serves soup as an appetizer to everyone. It was fairly bland, but chock full of some kind of noodles.

As with anything involving the word "noodle," Sadie loved it.
She even managed to get the boys to hand their bowls over for her to polish off.

Now that's a new way to sleep

Of all of Sam's acrobatics in his sleep, this position I found him at my parents' last month is the most impressive so far.

Happy Fall!

Though they are both getting a little impatient waiting for their favorite season to make an entrance (that would be the one that involves snow), I have been able to get the kids to see some of the joy of my favorite season (that would be the one that involves falling leaves and not-so-frigid temperatures).

PPE

(That's personal protective equipment, for those of you that do not have the good fortune of being married to a former safety manager.)

Sadie kind of takes it to extremes.

She can frequently be seen playing at the park with her bicycle helmet on, long after she has dismounted the bike.

And here she is with her "safety goggles," just in case that pizza gets out of control.

They just make me laugh

Although, I probably should be doing something about the random rude noises....

I've been replaced

Every morning (until today) Sadie stays in her bed until I come in and get her.

(I get no credit for this. She came this way. I have no idea how we have managed to keep it going so long, seeing as her brother feels free to wander into our room at any point of the night or morning.)

After she wakes up, she usually talks to herself for a while and then eventually yells at the top of her lungs, "MOM! MOM!" until I drag myself out of bed and into her room.

This morning was different.

Instead of the typical shouts, I heard "SAM! SAM!"

He didn't hear her, so I went in as usual.

Her response was, "No - not you. SAM!"
