Make you own amusement park

This is what you do when you are at your great-aunt and uncle's house and have exhausted everything your mother has brought with you to entertain yourselves.

Ride the chairlift up and down the stairs (and give your stuffed animals rides, too.)



And then try an alternate route down the stairs.



And then repeat about 27 times just because you can.

Can I please be a baby again?

It was all we could do to keep Sadie from jumping in with her cousin.

They've been waiting 11 months for this!

The first snow of the year!

Ever since we skipped out on winter last January (much to our delight - and our children's dismay - is was summer when we arrived in Tasmania), the kids have been wanting to know when it is going to snow again.

And on Thanksgiving, they got their wish. (For a brief moment, at least.)

They were, however, a bit disappointed when they realized there wasn't going to be enough to actually play in.

Sharing the spotlight

It seems her place as the baby of the family has been taken by someone else.

She tried to talk me into giving her a bottle.

I refused.

She had to settle for helping.

But she did manage to get me to feed her some yogurt while cousin Ben ate his babyfood.

We missed out on those months of her life - I figure it's okay to go back to do them over every once in a while......

Help - I've climbed and I can't get down!

This afternoon I thought I heard Sam go out the back door to play in the yard. I glanced out a couple minutes later and didn't see him, so I figured either I was hearing things or he came back in.

Then a couple minutes later I heard a slightly distressed "Mom!" from the backyard.

I still didn't see him....

until I looked here.

I didn't know that that puny tree had branches that could be climbed, much less support 45 pounds of little boy. I am sure his Uncle Matt is proud!

Always thinking....

Sam: Can God see us right now? (while sitting at the kitchen table)

Me: Yep. He can see us all the time.

Sam: Does God have a hundred eyes?

Me: Probably more than that.

Sam: A thousand?

Me: Probably even more than that.

Sam: Could he see us even if the the house was made of all bricks?

Me: Yes.

Sam: Even if there were no windows?

Me: Yes.

Sam: And even if the back door (glass) was covered with bricks?

Me: Yes.

Sam: Wow. We can't hide from God, can we?
