Thankful

Last year on Mother's Day we had no idea Sadie existed. We thought it might be years before we'd have 2 kids to celebrate with on Mother's Day. Yet here I am, one year later, having a hard time remembering what it was like with just 1!

Today I give thanks for all of those who took care of her before she came to us. The following are pictures from the time she spent at the orphanage and with her foster family. I do not know who all the people are in the pictures, but you can see she was taken care of well. I appreciate all that they (and many others) did to help her become the little girl she is today.







While I wish it had been me doing all the mothering in the first 21 months of her life, I give thanks to God for providing others to love and nurture her while she waited for her family.

We also give thanks on this day for our children's birthmothers - and wish they somehow could know what a joy their children are to us.
