Upgrade

We went to the doctor yesterday to check in on Sam's arm. We thought he was getting the permanent cast last week, but the doctor wanted to leave it in the splint for a week to make sure everything stayed in place alright without surgery.

Everything looked good, so Sam got to pick out his color and I asked for waterproof lining so we don't have to worry about it getting wet. The doctor informed me it would cost more, and most likely be out of pocket for us since insurance usually doesn't pay for it. I asked how much, and he apologetically said "Oh, usually $75 or $80." Ummm....that's all? I would happily pay a couple times that much to be able to go to the pool and have Sam in the tub without a plastic bag wrapped around his arm.

Here's Sam, showing off his upgrade - a big step up from the splint and ace bandage wrap.It's already decorated with some buttons to help in his superhero adventures.
