The kids had a long weekend for Martin Luther King Day, so we met Anna and Ethan in Dubuque for some water-park fun.
Someone (which may have been me) promised the kids they could go to each other's birthday parties this year (the promise was made last March or so when it didn't seem likely they would even remember the conversation...). All their birthdays fall between the beginning of January and the beginning of March, so we decided a little hotel getaway would get us of the hook for the party promise (which they did, in fact, remember.)
The trip was cut a bit short by some random middle-of-the-night throwing up, so we headed out to Peoria a little early so the kids could see our new house (that we will move into in February.)
(Sidenote: You know you are best friends with someone when one of your kids throws up on the hotel room floor and after clean-up you just rub hand lotion on your hands and go back to sleep with them close to your face to overcome the smell of the room. And why was there no exhaust fan in the hotel bathroom?!)
Anyway...Peoria....the new house!
Sam picked his room....
...and informed Sadie this one was hers.
She was actually fine with it and more excited than she appears here.
