12 Days of Catch-Up: Beach fun

Sam spent the entire month of June asking "When do we go to the cabin? There's a beach, right? We get to swim in the lake and play in the sand!"

And then he broke his arm.

We were lucky enough to get a waterproof cast, but the doctor said lake swimming was still not a good idea because of the chance of bacteria getting trapped in there and causing problems.

We did our best to accommodate Sam - a cast cover to keep the sand and splashes off and a wonderful grandma and aunt to blow up floaties. Even though he couldn't actually swim in the lake, he got to float around on it.

 We did let Sam wade a little....you can tell Joe and I are real committed to getting in the water, huh?
