Tahoe - the Lake

We spent most of our time in Tahoe around the resort, but made a trip down to the lake one afternoon. The kids love the beach, so they were in heaven.

We had lots of fun playing in the sand.

And more fun swimming in the lake.

After that everybody else went on a sailboat ride (I just couldn't muster up the energy to contain Sadie on a 90 minute boat ride...) and we headed for home, hoping to get the kids to bed early. After a brief stop at the McDs walk-thru (see previous post) we were due to be home with kids in bed by 7:30. After a few late nights in a row, we were quite excited about this prospect.

(Says a bit about our life since we chose to take our kids to McDs instead of on a sailboat ride on Lake Tahoe, but I'm ok with that....)

All was well until we realized we had missed a turn, despite the GPS being on the dashboard in front of us. (Why didn't we hear it tell us to turn, you ask? We have the sound turned off, otherwise the kids repeat everything the lovely lady says.)

No problem. We'll just turn around.

Except we were on our way down a mountain.

With absolutely not one single place to make a u-turn.

Until the bottom.

Where we found ourselves in the great state capital of Nevada - Carson City.
And an easy nerd in front of us?
