Just about a year ago.......

One of the most precious things we got in China was a CD of pictures of Sadie from her time at the orphanage. I have been thinking a lot today about her surgery coming up next week and looking back at pictures from around the time of her lip repair in China, just a little over a year ago.

Here's my favorite one of her before surgery, taken in September 2007. I love how she has her tongue up in her cleft. We always know when she is tired because she starts running her tongue up and down in the cleft in her palate and it seems to soothe her to sleep.....I wonder what she'll do once that is gone.

Here's one of her right after surgery in November with her arm restraints on, to keep her from touching her mouth. After her palate surgery we'll have two weeks of restraints and a liquid diet......that is going to be very tough on this little girl who LOVES to eat! Sorry - don't know how to rotate the photo!

And this final one is from December 2007...our baby a year ago.....we never would have dared hope then that we would have a referral, much less our daughter home with us, by this Christmas. God is SO good!
