I have been blessed with children who LOVE to take medicine. They both open up wide, slurp it down and then ask for more. Each one gets jealous if the other one is sick and the other is not, because the sick one gets medicine. I often take this trait for granted, until my friend Jen reminds me of the wrestling match that ensues at their house over bubble gum flavored pain reliever.
This morning Sadie was back to refusing anything to eat or drink. Yesterday she was ok as long as we took her arm restraints off and let her drink from an open cup all by herself (with 2 adults hunched over her ready to grab a stray finger that was trying to enter her mouth). The hospital also gave us large syringes with rubber tips to use to squirt baby food into her mouth. This went ok yesterday as long as she was able to put one hand on the syringe and "help." However, this morning she was not content just to help - she wanted to do everything on her own, completely on her own. She was also refusing the cup, screaming and turning her head every time we tried to get anything in her. We eventually gave up.
Then it came time for medicine. I didn't have much hope, based on the morning full of screaming and power struggles. But when I held her and my mom came over with the medicine syringe, she opened right up - we could not believe it! So I had the genius idea to put everything in the medicine syringe....and it worked. She had 2 bottles of pediasure and a container of yogurt, a teaspoon at a time. A bit tedious, but we'll go with it.

So happy that she is eating! You have one strong willed girl there. She knows what she wants and how to get it!
So funny that the kids compete for meds! And like taking them.
Mine do too!
Hugs- you sounds and look like you are hanging in there great.
